This is Daryl Grant MacAskill, a homeless, mentally challenged, white nationalist blogger who has a cellphone, some racist ideas, a penchant for extortion, and a Starbucks wifi signal.
He uses these to write defamatory claims about people he doesn’t like, accusing them of crimes, making up evidence, and posting slanderous claims that he refuses to delete unless he’s paid to do so.
He sometimes goes by the name Ace Ventura. Other times he goes by Dr Stoxxman. When he does receive mail, and the occasional ransom cheque from a company that doesn’t want to deal with him, he picks it up from a Vancouver mental health facility and takes it back to the Burnaby homeless camp he calls home.
In 1995, he spent six months in jail for tax fraud. In 2016 he was charged with criminal harassment of a female lawyer, who ended up taking out a restraining order against him.

Vancouver financier Ralph van der Walle sat next to him multiple times in court. MacAskill is 62 years old and described as looking rather dishevelled. But looks can be deceiving.
“You have no idea how absolutely seriously a threat this guy is,” van der Walle told iNFOnews.ca.
It’s been almost four years since the investment company executive became aware of MacAskill.
“One of our investors phoned up and he said, ‘My wife just Googled your personal name, you never believe what’s out there,'” he said.
What van der Walle found was a highly choreographed website containing an endless amount of information about his company, Canada Easy Investment Store, and its investments. While there was lots of information, most of it simply wasn’t true.
“(He) makes it look really legit… he links it to all sorts of what he calls scientific research, and then he intersperses this with, ‘well, this must be a scam,'” van der Walle said.
MacAskill dug deep into van der Walle’s corporate history and without a single shred of evidence, told everyone it was a massive scam.
Nothing much new here; short attackers do this on the markets all the time, but…
He did say MacAskill told his lawyer others had paid for content to be removed.
One of the companies iNFOnews.ca contacted said they ended up paying him off with a cheque for an amount somewhere under $10,000.
Van der Walle – credit to him – did the hard work on this guy.
After a court appearance, a private investigator followed him. But he didn’t head to a swanky downtown Vancouver apartment or upmarket restaurant, he went to Starbucks. After a few hours using the free Wifi on his laptop, he went to the Skytrain station. There, he was seen trying to find change left in the machines before jumping on the Skytrain for a bit and getting off in Burnaby.
He disappeared into a tent encampment.
“He’s homeless,” van der Walle said.
And he clearly has some severe mental health issues.
Tehe judge in that case fined MacAskill $190k and jailed him for 15 days.
My old bosses at Stockhouse dealt with his madman too, eventually suing him in 2000, and his Dr Stoxxman persona, to stay off their site after he created some 2300 accounts, including 184 in one day, all of which he’d use to bash companies he didn’t like and use the comments section to extort said companies.
So this mentally challenged, homeless, racist, serial defamer is out there, kids. I know this because a family I know and like, the Sandhers of Sandher Fruit Packing, just outside Kelowna, have been abused by this arsehole for over a year.
The Sandher family have done well for themselves, growing, processing, and delivering fruit across the province, the country, and beyond. Papa Sandher arrived in Canada to pick fruit as a 17-year-old immigrant decades ago, and eventually earned enough to lease some land. He parlayed that plot into a legitimate and widespread agriculture business that employs many and feeds many more.
MacAskill has it in for the Sandhers, and has for some time, mostly because of the colour of their skin. He’s long pushed the idea that they’re organized crime kingpins and gun traffickers and terrorists and evil supervillains who will one day invade Western Europe, block out the sun and destroy the planet earth just to annoy him.
He got the idea that they’re brown-skinned Lex Luthors because, apparently, a fruit pressing machine they imported years ago arrived at the border with some drugs slipped into the shipping container. The cops did a search, found the drugs, and arrested those responsible, none of which were related to the Sandher family.
This happens frequently with international containers and trucks sent across the border, sometimes with the knowledge of the sender, sometimes the transport company, sometimes neither.
The Sandhers were cleared of any wrongdoing and went about their lives, but MacAskill was outraged and set up an el cheapo blog – Gangsterism Out – that he’s since used to toss any and all forms of slander at the Sandhers, repost news stories about gang members, and gossip about anyone he doesn’t like.
Now, I know what you’re thinking – if the Sandhers are being unfairly maligned, why wouldn’t they go to lawyers and do something about it?
They did. And won.

A prolific blogger who has spent more than a year targeting the owners of an Okanagan fruit farm has lost his bid to have a defamation lawsuit against him dismissed. Instead, the B.C. Supreme Court has issued a warrant for Daryl Grant MacAskill’s arrest so that he can be brought before a judge to face contempt of court allegations.
MacAskill – who goes by the aliases “Ace” and “Ace Ventura,” according to Justice John Gibb-Carsley’s recent decision – “maintains and controls” a blog called “Gangsterism Out.” Since March 2024, MacAskill has published dozens of blog posts about Sandher Fruit Packers Ltd. – a family fruit farm business based in Kelowna – and its operators Bir Singh Sandher, Gurtaj Singh Sandher and Prabtaj Singh Sandher.
The Sandhers have sued MacAskill for defamation, and they won an injunction last year in which the court ordered MacAskill to take down some of his posts and refrain from making similar statements about the plaintiffs while the underlying case remains before the courts.
So the Sandher’s have done everything by the book.
MacAskill claimed he had a right, as a ‘journalist’, to post anything he wanted, but the judge took a running shit all over that insanity.
“The statements also include crude, racist and homophobic language and content. The plaintiffs argue that there is no basis for any of the statements and that their reputation and livelihoods have been adversely impacted by the baseless accusations.” [..]
“While the idea that free speech is critical to the well-being of a democratic and just society is unassailable, in my view, the information the defendant has posted on his blog is so woefully devoid of facts that it does not satisfy the definition of public interest,” the decision reads.
“Indeed, unsourced and false accusations may be better characterized as ‘misinformation.’ The spreading of misinformation or lies is not in the public interest.”
So why am I writing about this brazen homeless scofflaw?
Because on Canada Day of this year, the Sandher’s, who I’ve recently come to know personally, cut a cheque for $5,000 to the Vancouver Canadians to send local kids to a baseball game, share a truckload of freshly harvested cherries with fans, and say thank you to the country that gave them their start.
I wrote about that, and MacAskill had a shit-fit.
Emailing me notes stuffed with abuse, racism, and slander, he wrote that I was a “bum white trash scum dude,” a “traitor” (race traitor?) and that there was ample evidence to accuse his neighbours of being terrorists.. only, when he presented these sources, it turned out they were fake, as pointed out by a judge of the BC Supreme Court
In his defence, MacAskill argued the defamation suit against him should be tossed out and submits what he calls “evidence.”
MacAskill submitted a “police report” with information about a 2018 investigation called “Operation Valley Cloak.”
However, the court found the police report was fabricated and made to look genuine.
The decision said the rest of MacAskill’s evidence was “inadmissible hearsay, inadmissible opinion evidence, subjective descriptions, reactions, opinions regarding motive, speculation, argument, and irrelevant information.
“His claims are largely conclusory allegations unsupported by evidence,” Justice Gibb-Carsley said.
Ultimately, the Justice dismissed MacAskill’s argument and issued a warrant for his arrest.
This is a familiar pattern.
The judge concluded that the defendant was clearly aware of the injunction and the contempt application, but continued to publish the allegedly defamatory information on his blog and in emails to the plaintiffs and their lawyers.
The decision includes quotes from a few of the “many” posts MacAskill has made that breach the injunction order, as well as quotes from one of the defendant’s emails to one of the plaintiffs’ lawyers that “provides the flavour of the abuse and vitriol that the defendant uses in in his correspondence.”
The quoted email taunts the lawyer, calling him “a retard” and a “f***ing stupid c***,” and referring to his clients as “scum.”
“I am told that the volume of emails sent from the defendant to Mr. Byma is significant, with over 400 sent to Mr. Byma alone since July 4, 2024, and hundreds more sent to other individuals at the plaintiffs’ counsel’s law firm and others,” Gibb-Carsley’s decision reads.
Gibb-Carsley suggested to MacAskill that he should chill the fuck out with his emails and blog posts if he didn’t want to make his contempt case worse. In response, he began posting that the judge and the lawyers were all also corrupt, and were all in it against him.
Because, you know, when you’re a paranoid psychopath, everyone’s in it against you.
MacAskill says a giant water cistern on the Sandher property, is a gun storage warehouse and meth lab. It’s been visited by the cops, and they found nothing of concern.
It’s also been visited by me, and what I found will SHOCK YOU… it’s full of water, used for the mammoth agricultural operation that is Sandher Fruit Packing.
MacAskill also says a piece of the Sandher property slated to be used for cherries has never been used for cherries… except it has. It features those very same cherries that were shared with the Vancouver Canadians crowd, and are in grocery stores across Canada right now, in fact.
I ran a basic background check on MacAskill and found an individual with a reported long history of mental illness, accusations of domestic abuse going back decades, bad debts, and multiple addresses. It appears this individual is a picture perfect example of projection, where every accusation is a confession, and when the cops figure out what paddock he’s bunking in, he’ll be in jail right alongside some of the people he’s long written about.
One episode involving Mr Ventura/Stoxxman saw him arrested at a Hudsons Bay store for stealing a chocolate milk. He freaked out while in custody and banged his head against a wall until he knocked himself out, waking at the feet of the RCMP, having peed his pants.
Of course, MacAskill duly sued HBC for the episode.
Now MacAskill is barging into my inbox every morning, sending me abuse and ccing it to companies I’ve written about which haqve no commercial connection to me, I guess figuring maybe I’ll … pay him to stop?
I won’t. I’ll just keep writing about him so anyone who he ever contacts and bothers in the future will know who he is, what he is, that he’s a bona fide nutbar criminal with warrants out for his arrest.
This is him, in case you stumble upon him at a Starbucks sucking down their free wifi for two hours at a time.
So, in close I’ll share this short email exchange with MacAskill this morning, which should show who we’re dealing with here and close this out for good.
